When it comes to makeup, having a good base is key to a successful routine. Getting your skin prep right, can lead to your makeup looking better and lasting longer.

Holly said:” The Magic Cream will give you a really good base for makeup.

“It doesn’t matter what foundation I’m using, even if you aren’t using Charlotte Tilbury makeup, this base is fantastic.”

“For a concealer you want it to help disguise dark circles or blemishes.

“You don’t want it to look cakey,” she continued.

Whether you are looking for full coverage or following a clean girl routine, a good concealer is a must have in your makeup bag.

Holly said: “We always like to say matte not flat.

“If you put it on your hand first you can control what you put on your face much easier.

“Sometimes if you put it straight on the face you can end up with more of a ‘cakey’ look.

“With makeup, never feel like you have to use the product for exactly what is is designed for, products, as long as they work for you, can be used however you like.”

Bronzer is classic, whether you’re using it on your cheeks or across your eyelids, it adds warmth and a sun-kissed glow.

“Using bronzer on your eyes will make it match with everything else.

“For your makeup to be bold but still last all day, do multiple thin layers of each product to build up it’s coverage.”

Other top tips Holly suggests:

  • Eyeliner as eyeshadow with a buffing brush to blend it out and to get a soft colour all over
  • Use a setting spray with a light mist to evenly cover the face and lock the makeup in all day
  • Use lipstick as blush for a more cohesive look
  • Different brushes will give different results
  • Press the product in to avoid patchiness
  • Even after powdering, don’t be afraid to add more product throughout the day to maintain a full look
