A man from Bulwell has been jailed for five months after making their neighbour’s life a misery.
Christopher Brealey, 57 of Highbury Road, harassed a woman living beside him for over several weeks before being arrested.
Brealey regularly subjected the woman to verbal abuse, threats to her life and aggressive behaviour.
He also blasted loud music throughout the day and night, and banged on walls while shouting abuse during early hours, Nottingham Magistrates Court heard.
Brealey’s neighbour had been documenting the harassment as it was happening, unbeknownst to him, which eventually led to his arrest on January 13.
The evidence she had gathered played an important role in aiding the Bulwell Neighbourhood Policing team to take further action against the 57 year old.
On Wednesday January 14, Brealey admitted a charge of harassment without violence, and was sentenced the same day to five months in prison.
He also received a two-year restraining order banning him from contacting his victim.
Sgt Katie Taylor, of Bulwell Neighbourhood Policing team, said: “This type of behaviour can have a really negative impact on people’s lives and how they feel about where they live, which is simply not okay.”
