A Nottingham based TikTok creator is planning on trying foods from every country in the world, without leaving Nottingham.
Amari Mather-Simpson, 22, of Wollaton used to work in property management before quitting to pursue his passion of content creation under the handle @social.brandy.
“I was stuck in the nine to five, unhappy and wanted things to change.
“I don’t have the savings to travel the world, so I’m going to find the world in Nottingham,” he said.
Amari said the idea of trying foods from around the world in Nottingham was inspired by an influencer in New York who does a similar type of content.
“I wanted to bring the idea to the UK, but even more specifically, I wanted to bring it to Nottingham”, he said.

Amari revealed he was looking to move to Manchester, but felt as if he was running away from his hometown of Nottingham.
“I can’t run away from where it all began, I’ve hardly explored my own city in 22 years and it’s somewhere I think the world needs to see,” he said.
His first video in the series featured an Iranian restaurant called Saffron on Bentinck Road, Arboretum.
Amari, who has always been passionate about food said the restaurant struggled to stay afloat during the Covid-19 pandemic, but after his video was published the owner messaged him and explained that footfall was now better than ever.
“It’s so crucial to support local businesses, and I’m happy I can help, even if it’s in a small way,” he said.
This video has reached over 135,000 views on Instagram, and has received positive engagement.

One commenter on Instagram with the handle @kirstquad said: “Can’t wait to see more of this adventure, where’s next?”
Amari believes its possible to find every country’s cuisine in his home city, but realises that his format may have to be flexible if this isn’t the case.
He said: “If there isn’t a restaurant for a specific country, I will find someone who can cook it for me, I will adapt the series to fit any circumstances.”
The content creator, who has amassed over 2000 followers since starting in November last year, believes his content can spread the word and encourage people to explore different cultures and try new cuisines.
“I hope I can introduce people to new culture, Nottingham is an exciting place, and I want my content to be the vehicle to show that.”
