Ashfield Council’s annual BIG Ashfield Spring Clean which encourages residents to dispose of additional waste and take ownership of the area they live, returns next month.
This year’s spring clean allows residents to dispose of one bag of household waste with their waste collection and gives them access to ‘flying skips’ where they can dispose of extra waste.
A live map online at the council website will show where the skips are appearing in local areas.
The scheme allows people to book free bulky waste collections online with each household given access to one free one with a maximum of three items per year.
Town litter picks will be taking place across the weeks with district council staff being encouraged to take part as well as residents.
School children are invited to help the council create items like bug hotels to develop a connection with nature and help improve the natural environment.
