Mansfield Town take on Sutton United tonight (January 23) in the rescheduled fixture: the statistics favour The Stags but Sutton are coming to a ground where they have never lost.

The Stags in third boast the best defence in the league hoping to thwart to the second-lowest scorers with a win placing them one point off first.

Sutton currently sit rock bottom of League Two on 19 points with only four wins so far this season.

Mansfield have faultered lately with a draw and a loss in their last two but the top shot takers will hope they can up their goal tally for the season against a side who have only one clean sheet.

The U’s will be hoping to keep up their new manager bounce under Steve Morison – he  only have came out with a draw against Barrow but the two goals being the most they’ve managed in league football.

As much as the odds are in The Yellow’s favour, history doesn’t favour Mansfield too kindly in this fixture.

December’s reverse fixture saw Mansfield win 2-0 but that was their first win over Sutton in the top four tiers of the English game.

Defender Calum Macdonald is expected to miss between four and six weeks with a calf injury.

Sutton striker Harry Smith continues to serve a suspension following his red card at Gillingham and there are still long-term injuries to Scott Kashket and Jon Barden.

Predictions from the sport team:

James Pringle – 0-1

James Quinney – p-p

Marcus Bennett – 3-0

Joe James – 3-0

Joel Gardiner – 4-1 but most likely p-p
