The Motorpoint Arena, home of the Nottingham Panthers and the venue for this weekend's clash as the Panthers look to bounce back from defeat last weekend.

The Motorpoint Arena will be the host of The Elite Ice Hockey League clash between The Nottingham Panthers and The Belfast Giants on January 20 as the Panthers look to overturn last weeks defeat to the same side.

The match will begin at 7PM and will be the last meeting between the two teams until the end of February.

A full-of-confidence Giants squad will be travelling to Nottingham with bragging rights to uphold as they successfully did the double over The Panthers in the teams’ previous meetings.

In the most recent match, The Giants took a 4-2 victory over The Panther, scoring in all three periods to secure their triumph.

The Nottingham Panthers were without Josh Tetlow, Ollie Betteridge and Austin Farley who all were missing due to injury.

Whilst The Belfast Giants were missing Elijah Barriga who was ruled out with a season-ending injury in September.

The last matchup between the two teams was nothing short of electrifying as both sets of players gave their all, refusing to back down to the other.

Fans of The Panthers will be hoping the team can shake off last week’s double-header defeats and bounce back in front of their home crowd.

The Panthers begun the season well with form and momentum which saw them win six of their opening seven matches.

However, since that run, the squad has only managed to win three from their last seventeen games, a run that currently leaves them bottom of the league heading into Saturday’s match.

Although, a vital win in Saturday’s fixture, could see The Panthers jump out of last place and move ahead of The Fife Flyers who currently sit ninth.

As for The Giants, the team will be looking to add to their impressive 16 wins this season which has helped them to third in The Elite Ice Hockey League.

A third successive victory over The Panthers could see The Giants move up to second in the table.

TARGET PREDICTION: Nottingham Panthers 3-2 Belfast Giants
