Nottingham Forest required extra-time to overcome League One Blackpool, in a 3-2 thriller at Bloomfield Road.

Goals from Andrew Omobamidele, Danilo and Chris Wood sets up a fourth-round clash away at Bristol City on Friday 26th of January.

Omobamidele opened the scoring, as he met a Ryan Yates flick on at the far post, marking his debut with a goal following his £11 million move from Norwich in the summer.

Celebrations were dedicated to Cheikhou Kouyate after the tragic death of his father, by holding up a shirt with the message ‘thinking of you Kouyate’ on.

Forest doubled their league straight after the interval, as Albie Morgan’s poor back pass led to Danilo slotting passed the two Blackpool players left helpless on the goal-line.

Morgan made amends though and gave Tangerine fans hope as he halved the deficit with a great strike just after the hour mark.

Blackpool squared things up on 78 minutes after some great work by Irishman Andy Lyons set up a looping cross for substitute Kyle Joseph to head home.

The home side had a great chance to win it in the 9th minute of 10 added on at the end of the match as 20-year-old Karamoko Dembele was put through on goal but took too long with his effort and was eventually blocked by Orel Mangala.

The Red’s winner came in the 110th minute after Chris Wood fired into an empty net following a Ryan Yates cross, to score his fifth in as many games.

Forest travel to the GTECH Community Stadium to face Brentford in a big game at the bottom of the Premier League, meanwhile Blackpool travel to the Memorial Stadium as they play Bristol Rovers in League One.
