Nottingham Forest play Manchester United on Wednesday in the first leg of the League Cup semi final in what ensures to be a classic clash of the titans, as both teams hunt for a piece infamous silverware.

Forest have been ravaged with injuries as of late, missing vital first team players such as goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

Speculation over who will play in Wednesday’s game is certainly in the air as typically, some teams tend to field weaker line-ups in the competition.

Keep scrolling for our predicted Nottingham Forest line up to face Manchester United.

GK: Wayne Hennessey

With Dean Henderson out for a couple months, Welsh goalkeeper Hennessey is now being called upon by Forest manager Steve Cooper to fill some big boots.

Hennessey has played only five games this season for Forest, one being against United in a 3-0 loss.

RB: Serge Aurier

Aurier has been a good addition to the Forest squad, providing some good positive displays this season.

His experience in the Premier League has certainly benefited Forest, and he’ll look to put in another positive shift tonight.

CB: Joe Worrall

A staple in the Forest team as of late, who has been impressive in his displays.

He could struggle however, against the likes of Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford, as those players pack a lot of pace.

CB: Willy Boly

In place of the injured Moussa Niakhate, Boly’s height and strength will certainly benefit against the likes of Wout Weghorst.

LB: Renan Lodi

He’s been solid since arriving in Nottingham as a fantastic supportive attacking left back.

He’ll defiantly cause problems for the United defence.

CM: Remo Freuler

Freuler fills arguably the most important position on the pitch, as his job involves both supporting the defence and the attack.

He could be up against the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro, which will certainly present a challenge.

CM: Danilo

Got in a few minutes against Bournemouth at the weekend and was impressive.

He’ll come in for Ryan Yates, who may be missing due to an injury he sustained at the weekend.

CM: Jesse Lingard

Having only just returned from injury, you feel either way that Forest are going to need him.

He’ll look to offer balance in the midfield, and potentially support the forward line.

FW: Brennan Johnson

The lad has been a real spark this season proving to be a massive threat and will look to keep up his threat against a reborn United defence.

FW: Morgan Gibbs-White

Alongside Johnson, Gibbs-White has blended well in Forest’s system.

Having been on a good run of form, can he continue that into their biggest game of the season so far?

FW: Chris Wood

Their wasn’t much to see of Chris Wood at the weekend, having only just signed for the club.

It’ll be an interesting battle to witness between him and Lisandro Martinez – if he plays.
