The Nottingham Hoods look to build on their victory against Loughborough Riders last weekend against the Reading Rockets this Saturday at home.

Both teams are coming off victories last weekend, with impressive performances against higher-placed sides.

The Hoods beat the Loughborough Riders 84-73 to leapfrog them in the table, while the Reading Rockets beat Derby Trailblazers 81-83 in a game that went down to the wire, with Troy Cracknell scoring the game-winning free-throw with two seconds left.

The Hoods currently hold the fourth seed in the NBL Division One table, while the Rockets are placed sixth.

They could switch places after the meeting, however, with the Hoods only ahead by two points in the table and fifth-placed Riders facing a tough trip to second-placed Worthing Thunder.

The Hoods’ point guard, Seth Hall said: “We really need to win this game.

“I think we’re ready, we’ve been preparing super good building up to this.”

The last time the two teams matched up was in October, when the Hoods beat the Rockets 81-78 and Hall hit the game-winning three-point shot at the buzzer.

Hall is certainly the man the Rockets will be looking to slow down as he is the top scorer for the Hoods, averaging 20.1 points per game (ppg).

On the other end of the court, the Hoods will be trying to limit Rockets guard Troy Cracknell, who is averaging 20.3 ppg and is currently converting 45.8% of his three-pointers.

The contest is set to be a hard-fought and close one based on league position and form, so Hoods fans will look forward to a potentially thrilling weekend at the Wildcats Arena.
