A man has been charged after drugs and knives were found in a car that ran a red light.
The car was stopped for a traffic offence, however the possession of cannabis, cash, and two knives were also uncovered after the Ford Focus was pulled over for driving through a red light at 5:30pm on January 30.
Leon Brewster, 36, of Stonechat Drive, Birmingham, has been charged with possession of a class B drug and possession of a knife in a public place.
Sergeant Louise Ellis, of the city centre neighbourhood policing team, said: “Tackling knife and drug crime is a key priority for Operation Reacher teams and we will have no hesitation in putting people before the courts when they are suspected of committing such offences.”
Mr Brewster has been released on bail and is scheduled to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 17 February.
