
Nottingham has a lot on offer for disabled people looking to get involved in sports throughout the week.
There are many different weekly sports sessions for people of all abilities to get involved with all over Nottingham at different times throughout the week.
Below you can see when these sessions are and how to get involved with them:
Football
Newark Flowserve FC are a disabled football team based on Hawton Lane, Balderton. Sessions take place Saturday mornings 9am – 10:15am. The address is Hawton Lane, Balderton, Notts, NG24 3BU. Contact: Les Bruce, les.bruce86@gmail.com, 07914382216.
Ashfield District Council run multiskills football sessions at Lammas Leisure Centre on Lammas Road Wednesdays 11am – 12pm. Contact the Ashfield District Council at 01623 457410 or visit https://www.everyoneactive.com/centre/lammas-leisure-centre/ to get involved. It costs £2 per session.
Tennis
You can get involved with wheelchair tennis Fridays at Nottingham Tennis Centre from 7pm – 8pm every Friday. The sessions are run by Active Ace who you can get in contact with by phone at 0115 9338363 or by their email admin@activeace.co.uk.
Special Olympics
You can get involved with the Mansfield Special Olympics club at Garibaldi College on Garibaldi Road in Nottingham. It takes place Wednesdays 6pm – 7pm and costs £2.50. More information is available through contacting Gillian Hallam at 07974650768.
Boccia
Boccia is wheelchair bowls and juniors can get involved in the Mansfield Junior Boccia Club that holds sessions every Wednesday 4pm to 5pm. Sessions take place at Manor Sport and Recreation Centre on Kingsley Avenue in Mansfield, Notts. Contact Callum Lawson at 01623 425100. Sessions are free of charge.
Swimming
You can participate in disability swimming lessons at Harvey Hadden Sports Village in Bilborough, Nottingham. They are inclusive sessions for all swimmers in particular those with a disability or limiting illness.
