Trent Bridge, home to the Trent Rockets bathed in sunshine

Cricket’s newest format, The Hundred is back for its second installation this summer and today has seen the fixtures revealed.

Trent Rockets will play four matches at Trent Bridge throughout August.

Most fixtures will be double-headers with women’s matches first followed by men’s.

They kick-off their season by hosting last year’s runners-up Birmingham Phoenix on August 3.

The Rockets finished third in the men’s competition and a disappointing seventh in the women’s.

Later in August, the two teams from the capital travel north too Nottingham. Oval Invincibles on August 17 and London Spirit on August 21.

Finally, Welsh Fire come to the East Midlands on the 29th.

The deadline for player retention is February 22.

Last year, Trent Rockets had world number one bowler Rashid Khan, England Test skipper Joe Root, Dawid Malan, and Wahab Riaz to call on.

They also had local stars Alex Hales and Lewis Gregory at their disposal.

The women’s outfit had plenty of stars in their own right with Nat Sciver, Katherine Brunt and Sammy-Jo Johnson.

Tickets were hot property last season and similarly high attendances will be expected this time around.

Tickets will become available to those with priority booking from March 31 and then general sale from April 20.

The mens and womens finals will take place at Lord’s on September 3.
