If reports are to be believed, Nottingham Forest have been busy behind the scenes in January, preparing for departures and looking to shore up the squad, here are updates on some of the closest links.
Jed Wallace
The Millwall forward has been injured since December 11 and is yet to return but it is being reported that there have been positive updates on this front. Forest are hoping that they can beat a number of interested parties to his signature by the time his contract expires in six months time. The winger has been consistently impressive over the seasons for Millwall, with double figures in the goal column in each of the last two seasons, and will be hoping to push both of his goals and assists tallies further this season, whether this is at Millwall, Forest or elsewhere.
Ferdi Kadioglu
A slightly less well known player, Kadioglu is currently playing at Fenerbahçe, after beginning his career at Nijmegen. It has been reported that the Netherlands u-21 international’s agent has been invited to a meeting with Forest to listen to offers. Kadioglu is an energetic attacking midfielder with an eye for goal, and similar to Wallace, could fill a gap should Brennan Johnson depart in the coming days.
Festy Ebosele
Reportedly Forest have had a fee turned down by Derby for a transfer that would not necessarily make Ebosele popular with rams fans. It has also been reported that three Bundesliga sides may be in the running to secure the 19 year old’s signature. The young winger has an electric turn of pace leading to him being dubbed the ‘next Adama Traoré’ by one Derby fan. If Ebosele does leave in January, it seems unlikely that it will be to Derby’s East Midlands rivals.
With Forest going so well in the Championship currently, transfers that shore up the squad and provide support for the inform members of the squad will be the key targets.
