Nothing brings people together more like music and live performances. They have been sorely missed over the the last two years.

With restrictions finally lifting, a more promising summer is just around the corner.

Here are the top festivals to attend this year around Nottinghamshire and within a easy driving distance of the county in 2022.

Detonate Festival, Nottingham

At Colwick racecourse, Nottingham, they will host the cities much loved outdoor underground festival for another year. The day festival returns on the June 4, bringing together some of the biggest DJs and artists to create the electronic atmosphere that fans love. Parklife, Heaton Park Manchester

This weekend festival running from Saturday June 11 until Sunday June 12 sees a wide variety of acts across all eight Parklife stages and screening areas. With headliners from Megan Thee Stallion to rap legend 50 Cent to Gorgon City, there really is something to entertain everybody. Leeds Festival, Bramham Park

Whilst this festival went ahead last year organisers have promised that the 2022 festival will be better than ever! This event spans from August 26 August 28, and is the perfect way to start the bank holiday weekend. Throughout the long weekend the park is filled with endless talent from the Arctic Monkeys to Dave with more artists to be announced. Tickets are selling fast on their website here.

Glastonbury, Somerset

Glastonbury is back for the first time since 2019, with celebrations in order as they were forced to miss their 50th anniversary back in 2020. The ever-prominent Billie Eilish has been announced as a headline act where she will close the show on the Friday night. Diana Ross is set to play the legends slot on the Saturday, whilst enthusiasts must wait to wait to hear the remaining line up.

Unit 13, Nottingham

Newly renovated nightclub Unit 13 hosts exclusive music events throughout the year. February 19 sees the club host the Franky Wah All Night Long tour with a guarantee that the set will keep you dancing and entertained for the whole night.
