Notts County have sent forward Lewis Knight out on loan to National League North side Bradford Park Avenue.

Knight will join up with his former club until the end of the season after struggling with injuries at Meadow Lane.

The 23-year-old joined the Magpies on a two-and-a-half year deal during the second half of last season.

However, he’s made just one appearance for the club, a 14-minute cameo as Notts lost 4-1 to Woking in the National League last February.

On Knight’s departure, Notts County manager, Ian Burchnall, said: “Lewis was keen to go back there because he felt he played some of his best football there.

“So we’ll put him on loan there until the end of the season because he needs those minutes.”

Knight spent three years at Park Avenue and became a fans’ favourite during that time before putting pen to paper on a deal at Meadow Lane.

Yet the forward suffered a serious hamstring injury during a pre-season friendly with Boston United last summer, ruling him out for the beginning of the 2021/22 season.

Burchnall added: “He’s had a very disjointed time since he’s been here with injuries and missing games.

“It’ll be very good for him to get games until the end of the season now.”
