Nottingham Forest Women return to the City Ground for the second time this season when they take on Manchester City Women in a plum Women’s FA Cup tie.
The Reds are to host the 2016 Women’s Super League champions on the banks of the River Trent after beating Stoke City 2-1.
Andy Cook’s side had to come from behind in the third round clash, but goals from Rachel Brown and Becky Anderson ensured Forest’s progression in the historic competition.
Forest will be hoping for a different outcome from their last outing at the City Ground when they were beaten 2-0 by Derby County in-front of 4,443 supporters.
Discussing the draw earlier in the year, head coach Andy Cook said: “Since this draw was made we have all been excited at the prospect of playing Manchester City and the challenge that will pose for us as a team.
“It’s a big occasion for our club and for our players, but we want to cause an upset and we’ll prepare as well as we can for the game.
“That’s the beauty of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup and we’ll look to use that to our advantage. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain against a side full of international stars.
“We’re delighted to be playing the fixture at The City Ground again following the record-breaking attendance earlier this season against Derby County and it adds even more excitement to the tie.”
When is kick-off?
The fixture is due to take place at the City Ground on Saturday, January 2022.
Kick-off is at 13:00.
