National League leaders Chesterfield have announced the suspension of manager James Rowe following allegations of misconduct.
The Spireites sit at the top of the standings in the fifth tier, level on points but with a game in hand over second-placed Halifax.
Chesterfield confirmed the news in a brief statement shared online.
The full statement said: “Chesterfield FC can confirm that James Rowe has been suspended pending an investigation into allegations of misconduct.
“Danny Webb will take charge of the team.
“As the matter is subject to an investigation, the club is unable to make further comment until that investigation is complete.”
