Theatre Royal Concert Hall have a variety of shows over the festive period

Nothing lets you feel the magic of Christmas more than wrapping up warm, indulging in popcorn (or mince pies) and visiting the theatre with family and friends, or by yourself.

From films, to classical concerts and comedy, there’s an abundance of shows to choose from at the Theatre Royal Concert Theatre in Nottingham.

Love Actually In Concert

This festive favourite will be gracing the theatre, accompanied by a full orchestra performing Craig Armstrong’s soundtrack live.

Directed by Richard Curtis, the 2003 romantic comedy featured a star studded cast such as Hugh Grant, Kiera Knightly, Emma Thompson and Alan Rickman as eight couples navigate the highs and lows of relationships over Christmas.

Christmas With Il Divo

Originally formed in 2003, Urs Bühler, Carlos Marin, David Miller and Sebastien Izambard became globally successful as a multi-national classical boyband. They have sold over 30 million copies of their albums as well as achieving ‘Artist of the Decade’ at the Classic BRIT Awards 2011.

Now, Il Divo return to Nottingham to perform their top songs and Christmas classics live in concert on Thursday 9 December, after being rescheduled due to Covid last year.

The Muppet Christmas Carol

Disney’s Muppets re-enact the classic Dickens novel ‘A Christmas Carol’ in the 1992 musical comedy. The Novello Orchestra, conducted by David Mahoney, are performing the musical score live to the film in Nottingham as part of their UK tour this winter.

Jack Whitehall with Hilary and Michael: How To Survive Family Holidays (and Christmas!)

Jack Whitehall, award winning actor and comedian, returns to the stage for his upcoming show with his parents Hilary and Michael Whitehall. Packed with hilarious anecdotes, the Whitehalls share the dos and don’ts about the horror of spending Christmas with your family.

Following the hit Netflix show, ‘Jack Whitehall: Travels With My Father’, and the release of their Sunday Times Bestselling book ‘How To Survive Family Holidays’, the Whitehalls are a family packed with experience!

New Year’s Eve Gala 2021

The glamorous orchestra, Sinfonia Viva, are returning to its routes in Nottinghamshire for a magical New Year’s Eve performance. Playing an assortment of well known favourites such as Waltz from Swan Lake and a selection from famous classical composer Strauss.

Starting at 6pm, it leaves plenty of time to spend the rest of the 2022 countdown celebrating with family and friends at home or in town.
