Police are appealing for witnesses after a boy riding a bike was struck by a car.
The 13-year-old was riding along Westfield Lane, Mansfield before being knocked to the ground at the Crossing with Chester Street at around 8.40 am on Wednesday, December 1.
He was treated in hospital for minor injuries to his leg, neck and stomach.
Describing the incident as “frightening and upsetting” for the young boy, PC Lisa McNeil, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We believe the driver briefly got out of their vehicle to check on the victim but left the scene shortly afterwards.”
She urged the driver to contact the police “as soon as possible”, and added: “We would also like to hear from other people who witnessed the incident, particularly anyone who may have dashcam footage of what happened.”
