Nottingham's venues are hosting a wide range of gigs this December.

With Christmas fast approaching, what better way to prepare than with some quality live music in one of Britain’s most exciting cities.

Reporter Tom Hunt has taken a look at just some of the best upcoming gigs and performances at some of your favourite venues.

‘Lil Darkie’:

Performing at the Bodega on December 9, ‘Lil Darkie’s’ music is certainly different and unique, and differentiates with each release, ranging from Country to R&B.

His hits include ‘La La underbelly’, which reached more than a million views on YouTube, and ‘I can see clearly’, released back in February.

‘The Charlatans’:

Performing at the immensely popular Rock City on December 16, ‘The charlatans’ are continuing their 30th Anniversary tour.

The band have released 13 albums in total and all have charted in the top 40 of the UK charts.

‘The Twang’:

Formed in Birmingham, ‘The Twang’ are an English, indie focused band. They will be performing on December 13 at Rescue Rooms.

The hit singles include ‘Wide Awake’, which was released alongside their debut album ‘Love it when I feel like this’ which reached number three in the UK charts.

‘The Brand-New Heavies’:

Performing at The Level on December 17, ‘The Heavies’ are all about jazz and funk.

They’re best known for their string of successful singles in the early 90’s.

They have also been nominated for three awards over the past 30 years, including a nomination for the Pop awards 2020.
