A teenage boy was taken to hospital after being hit by a car whilst riding his bicycle in Mansfield.
The 13-year-old was struck by what is believed to be a black car at around 8:40am on Westfield Lane, Mansfield, on Wednesday, December 1, Nottinghamshire Police said.
Officers said the unknown driver initially stopped to check on the victim but left shortly afterwards.
The victim was treated in hospital for minor injuries to his leg, neck and stomach.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information after an incident.
PC Lisa McNeil, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Thankfully the victim in this case was not seriously injured but it goes without saying that this was a frightening and upsetting incident for him.
“We believe the driver briefly got out of their vehicle to check on the victim but left the scene shortly afterwards.
“We would like to speak with them at the earliest opportunity and urge them to get in touch as soon as possible.
“We would also like to hear from other people who witnessed the incident, particularly anyone who may have dashcam footage of what happened.”
