Excited customers queued outside of MINOSO on Black Friday for the grand opening of the first Japanese style retailer in the Midlands.
The store sells a variety of products ranging from beauty, electronics, travel and leisure but is best known for their partnership with Marvel, Disney and We Bare Bears.
The Japanese brand is the latest addition to Nottingham’s shopping offer despite the closure of many high-street names due to the Covid-19 lockdown.
MINOSO is the 14th shop take up a spot in the Victoria Centre in 2021.
Store supervisor, Mary Micanova, said: “We have so many plush toys that people love, and they make the perfect Christmas gift. We’re expecting a lot of people to buy them over the Christmas period, especially international students as it’s a brand many students recognise abroad.”
On display were a selection of stocking fillers, Japanese snacks and beverages and their exclusive Disney collection of holiday-themed teddy bears all at an affordable price.
Shopper Taswinee Kissoondoyal, aged 21 from Lenton, said: “This shop is different vibe compared to the other stores and has everything you need.”

Staff are anticipating many customers for in-person retail over the Christmas break, particularly Disney and Marvel fans.
MINOSO is located on the upper mall, beside Muffin Break.
