2021 Local Elections – Nottinghamshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner 

 This week marks the elections for Police and Crime Commissioners across England and Wales and this includes Notts. 

The job of the Commissioner is to oversee all policing across Nottinghamshire, providing a voice to the people by ensuring there is a police accountability. 

They are answerable to the communities they serve and must work with the force to come up with initiatives to cut crime and are also responsible for how the money allocated to the force is spent.

Three candidates are running for the role, with representatives from the three main political parties, Conservatives, Labour and Liberal Democrats, each competing for the position.

These candidates are Caroline Henry (Conservative), Paddy Tipping (Labour) and David Watts (Liberal Democrats).

The election will take place on Thursday May 6.

Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm.

You must be registered on the electoral roll or have applied to register by Monday, April 19.

The vote is held on the same day as the Nottinghamshire County Council elections.
