The championship is often regarded as one of the most competitive leagues in world football and is known for its unpredictable results, anybody can beat anybody.
At this point last season, Nottingham Forest were fighting for promotion, their season was full of optimism and exciting results which lead to fans believing that it was their big year to get promoted to the promised land.
At the end of the campaign, Forest was dejected and upset finishing in 7th place just outside the playoffs, with a stuttering finish to the season not winning a game in their last 5 games. Despite falling short of their target, there was a fresh belief amongst supporters that they were building towards a promotion charge in the 20/21 season.
However, this season has not gone to plan, Lamouchi seemed to have lost his spark at the club was soon replaced by Chris Hughton who has been unable to steady the ship. Currently sitting in 21st in the table, the Forest players have looked a shadow of themselves from last season.
The players have enough ability, they proved that in the last campaign, Chris Hughton needs to install a belief into his players and try to bring the best out of them for their next game against Coventry or he will come under serious scrutiny.
Supporters will be hoping for survival in the league this season and then building towards a promotion challenge in future seasons.
