An investigation has began after Mansfield GP surgery was broken into and set alight in the early hours of Tuesday, February 2.
Wood Street is currently being blocked by emergency services as Roundwood Surgery was the practice targeted.
The surgery notified patients in a post on its Facebook page, urging people to not show up and any person that has a missed appointment will be contacted.
A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews from Mansfield, Edwinstowe, Blidworth and Warsop Fire Station attended a fire at Roundwood Surgery, Wood Street, Mansfield at 5.01am this morning (February 2).
“Nottinghamshire Police and East Midlands Ambulance Service are also in attendance, and a Joint Police and Fire Investigation is being carried out.”
Detective Inspector Kim Binns is leading the investigation.
She said: “Firefighters and police officers were swiftly on the scene following a report of a fire to a surgery in Mansfield.
“Officers closed the surrounding roads following the incident.
“A joint fire and police investigation began this morning and we are appealing if anyone can help with our enquiries to come forward.
“There has been no report of any injuries and we have not established yet whether it is suspicious.”
