This weekend was a fairly positive one for our Nottinghamshire sides, though we didn’t see the full complement of games.

Nottingham Forest stopped Barnsley from recording a third straight win over them on Saturday, holding the Tykes to a 0 – 0 draw at the City Ground on Saturday.

Chris Hughton’s side lost on their last two visits to Oakwell, though one was last season under Sabri Lamouchi.

Forest travel to Birmingham City’s St Andrews Trillion Trophy Stadium on Tuesday night to visit Coventry City, who are on a mixed run of form but sit 17th having come up from League One last season.

Mansfield Town‘s home game against Walsall on Saturday was postponed due to inclement weather, giving the Stags a free weekend.

Nigel Clough’s side are now on their best unbeaten run in 30 years after their 1 – 0 win over Southend United over a week ago. They didn’t have a midweek game last week either, and will be glad of the rest when they host 19th-placed Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday night.

Weymouth 0 – 1 Notts County. Notts County took their second consecutive win as an impressive second-half dink from Elisha Sam gave Neal Ardley’s side all three points at Vanarama National League new boys Weymouth.

The Magpies have moved up to fifth in the league, and have two games in hand on second-placed Hartlepool who are just three points ahead.

Notts host tenth-placed Bromley on Tuesday night and will be looking to go four unbeaten as Neil Smith’s side visit Meadow Lane.
