2 cases of burglary reported monday 25th

Police were called in response to a fire have confirmed that a mans body has been found at the scene.

The incident took place at around 1:10pm on Wednesday 27th, on the land behind the Kissing Gate Leisure Centre in Shirebrook.

An investigation has been launched, prompting the large police presence seen by residents throughout the day.

In a statement the Nottinghamshire Police said: “We would like to reassure the community that we believe this to be an isolated incident. Although we know the nature of the incident will be distressing for the people of Shirebrook.”

The Police are currently asking to hear from anyone who was in the area of the leisure center between 12:30pm and 1:15pm.
