Nottinghamshire police have released a statement following the closure of the A52 in both directions over ‘concerns for someone’s safety’.

Police attended the incident at around 8am on Wednesday, 27th January – diverting traffic down Derby Road with congestion reported at Lenton Abbey.

A52 Clifton Boulevard and Middleton Boulevard were closed and Tram and Bus services were also halted.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson has stated the police attendance at the incident was due to “concerns for someone’s safety” but added it “has been brought to a safe conclusion.”

Traffic in the area is now moving freely, but public transport services are experiencing delays.
