With the Valentine’s day of 2021 expected to be like no other, Nottingham businesses and hobbyists will be selling their products online to ensure that everyone is still able to buy that perfect gift.

The Online Market Valentines Day Event will take place on Facebook, starting on January 29 at 9.30am and lasting until February 13, giving people plenty of time to shop for their loved ones.

A range of products will be available, including classic gifts of cards, flowers, chocolates, clothing, jewerly as well as many others.

Organiser of the event, Kate Allwood, is the owner of Kate’s Crochet Boutique and of Katie’s Handmade Jewellery.

She has been making and selling her jewerly for almost 3 years, and in August 2020 begun to sell her crotchet creations as well.

Kate created the Facebook group ‘Nottinghamshire’s Online Market’ at the end of last year, so that small businesses who were unable to attend craft fairs and Christmas markets still had a platform to sell on.

She said: “I’ve never done anything like this before, and it’s not an easy thing to do.

“I do have to put a limits on certain types of business like Avon, Fm, Bodyshop consultants, as there are lots of people who do this in Nottinghamshire.

Currently there are approximately 60 people taking part in the Valentines event, which will continue until 8pm on February 13.
