Radford FC's Selhurst Street ground in the Nottingham sun

Radford FC have drawn Hellenic premier league side Westfields FC in the third round of the Buildbase FA Vase, due to take place on December 19.

This comes after the Pheasants’ monumental 3-1 victory against Bewdley Town on Saturday, December 5.

Three second-half goals from Callum Law, Joe McLaughlin and Ashley Smith ensured that Radford FC progressed to the third round of the FA Vase for the first time in their 56-year history on Saturday.

Bewdley Town scored a late consolation goal through Luke Morris but Radford held their nerve to set up a difficult tie against a team in the step above them on the non-league pyramid.

Westfields FC will be making the 114-mile journey to Radford without their fans, as spectators are not allowed to attend as Nottingham comes under tier three restrictions.

It will be the first time the two teams have met in the Buildbase FA Vase and it promises to be an exciting tie.

In round two, Westfields FC held their nerve to beat Lutterworth town 5-4 on penalties after conceding an equaliser with the last kick of extra time to make it 3-3.

Westfields FC would have expected to get to round three but are yet to get past round four in their existence so they will be hoping to make their own step towards making history in the competition.

The two sides have been struggling in their league campaigns so far, with both teams towards the bottom of their respective leagues so will be hoping to improve their season with a good cup run.

Westfields FC will be confident going into the match as favourites but having already made history, the Radford players will be hoping to perform more heroics and go even further in the competition as they edge closer to the unlikely Wembley final.

More details on kick-off time and how to watch the match will be available nearer the time.
