We’ve all got to buy gifts this Christmas and if you’re anything like me you’ll leave it too late. This year we should all try and buy local to support independent businesses. With these things in mind, I’ve compiled a list of affordable Christmas present ideas that you can buy in Nottingham.

Handmade Notts

Handmade Notts displays and offers items to buy from a range of independent artists. As this is the case, there are a few options when it comes to potential Christmas gifts for £10 or under.

If you’ve got kids to buy for then there are a range of dinosaur posters that you can buy with alphabets and numbers on for educational purposes. If you know a child with an interest in dinosaurs and an inability to count then this is the perfect option for £10.

My second pick from the shop is the tote bag for £7. There are a few other animals such as a tiger and a dinosaur if the bear isn’t for you but at least you won’t have to worry about this gift fitting.

There is also a range of candles on offer from Black Acres Soap Pantry with a range of scents. I picked this ‘Snow Angels’ one to keep with the Christmas theme but there are many other options without so much as a snowflake for £5.95.

Pop Press

Pop Press offer a letter pressing service and press their own notebooks with comical phrases on the front. These neatly packaged notebooks are available to buy for £9.

Hopkinson Vintage, Station Street, Nottingham

As this is a vintage shop, there isn’t a stocklist of what is available. However, I’ve been in many times and you can buy all things ranging from a sofa to a keyring, so there are plenty of little trinkets and vintage items available for under £10- all it requires is a little bit of digging. Last time I went, I bought my mom a 1950’s teacup and saucer for £3.95- so have a look around and see what you can find.

Bookwise, Goose Gate, Nottingham

Bookwise is charity second-hand bookshop that offers all genres of books- many of which are priced at around £3-£5. So whether you’re looking for the scoresheet to Austrian classical music or Katie Price’s autobiography, you’ll find the perfect gift in there.
