Emergency services arrived at Nottingham City Hospital’s campus just after 8am on Monday morning following reports of a fire.
The fire broke out at Embley Road, an accommodation block on the hospital’s campus.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue service told CBJ News that they received a call at 7:53am and that one man ran out of the building.
Four fire engines attended the scene and two firefighters entered the building with breathing apparatus, using one hose.
The Blue 40 bus was unable to serve stops along the campus but is running again since the incident had been cleared.
NUH stated that the hospital’s services are all running as normal and have not been affected by the fire.
CBJ News are waiting for a statement from the representatives of Derwent Living, who own the property.
