Notts police have arrested a third man as part of their investigation into the death of Matlock Town footballer Jordan Sinnott.
The 25 year-old died after sustaining serious injuries during a night out in Retford at the weekend.
The latest arrest follows the arrests of two other men, 21 and 27 years-old. Both are in custody.
Leader of the investigation, Detective Inspector Justine Wilson, said: “We are making progress, but we have unanswered questions.
“I know there are people out there who saw what happened and can answer those questions for us, so I would like to appeal to you directly – please do the right thing, not just for us but for Jordan’s family.”
Det. Insp. Wilson is appealing for the Retford community to come forward with any information on the case.
The footballer was found unconscious with suspected head injuries.
He died of his injuries in hospital on the 25 January.
