Five men have been arrested in West Bridgford after Nottinghamshire Police stopped a suspected late-night drug deal.
The officers spotted two parked cars on Holme Road at around 7:30pm on December 6 and inspected the scene after smelling cannabis.
On inspection of the vehicle, police found a quantity of Class A and Class B drugs, including cannabis and cocaine.
The men, who are aged between 23 and 45, were all arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs, with a 23 year old man arrested on suspicion of robbery, burglary and blackmail in connection with separate incidents.
Another 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of blackmail in connection with another incident.
At the same time, a 36-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article after officers recovered a knife at the scene.
Detective Inspector Kim Binns, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Our officers are committed to keeping our communities safe and last night’s arrests are an example of how, as a force, we endeavour to protect the public through proactive police work.”
