Nottingham Forest extended their poor run of form against the Bluebirds to ten without a win with a 1-0 loss against the mid-table side.
Cardiff have won nine of the last ten meetings after veteran Nathaniel Mendez-Laing netted his second of the season to secure all three points for the away side.
The home side seemed to lack the finishing touch, as none of their staggering 32 shots found the back of the net.
As well as having the vast majority of chances, Forest also enjoyed 69% of the ball.
However, unfortunately none of the strikers turned up, as they only managed two shots on target for the game.
The only goal of the game came with Cardiff’s first chance, as they weathered early Forest pressure.
Nathaniel Mendez-Laing exchanged quick passes with Canadian Junior Hoilett before slotting away neatly past Brice Samba.
Even though they are enjoying a high perch near the top of the EFL this season, home goals have been hard to come by for Forest this season with only nine in their last eight matches.
Forest went into this match with high spirits after a 4-0 midweek win against QPR, who sit at 16th, however they simply couldn’t break down a regimented, well drilled Cardiff defence.
Nottingham Forest play again this Friday, and will be hoping to quickly correct this latest result against a Millwall side struggling for form.
Though managing to find two wins on the trot, Millwall have earned two consecutive draws and sit six points behind Forest at 13th.
Sabri Lamouchi will be hoping his side can be more clinical in front of goal in this one and continue their inspired away form this season.
