A Ruddington grocery store is giving local breweries the chance to showcase their products every weekend throughout December as they become a specialist ale bar for the month.

The Bottle Top hosts local craft beers, organic fruit and veg and promotes zero waste lifestyle in conjunction with the growing climate crisis.

The store has much more to offer has much more than just your standard fruit and veg store throughout the festive season.

The business is hosting ‘four tap takeovers’ during December to promote the craft beer industry and what it stands for.

Alex Preston, owner of The Bottle Top, said: “The craft beer scene is bringing passion back to drinking and making it about community and talent”.

She highlighted how the aim of the business venture is to support local talents and the upcoming events is their opportunity to get local brews on the map, as well as have a more social and community driven festive season.

Following the closure of the towns former Thomas’s Greengrocers shop, Alex and her husband, Anthony, opened the store combining his love of beer with Alex’s eagerness to introduce eco-friendly initiatives for the more environmentally conscious Nottingham residents.

The store is opening up its doors to Ruddington’s beer lovers every Friday (6pm until 11pm) and Saturday (midday until 11pm).

Castle Rock – Dec 13th & 14th

Totally Brewed – Dec 20th & 21st

Neon Raptor – Dec 27th & 28th

The first local brewery to take part in The Bottle Tops ‘Tap Takeovers’ is Black Iris Brewery from Slipstone, Nottingham who will be delivering their award-winning milk stout to the Nottingham locals this weekend starting December 6.

Following this, another three local brewers will come to the town in order to showcase the variety of craft beers they have on offer too.

The Bottle Top became a firm favourite eco-friendly store in the area after being nominated for business of the year finalist at the Celebrating Rushcliffe Awards.

The store offers a guilt free shopping experience equipped with a zero waste station where consumers can fill up compost-friendly boxes with spices, lentil oats and more as well as allowing for refillable shampoos and toiletries.
