A 44-year-old man has been arrested following a report of threats being made with a weapon during a confrontation in the street.

A man allegedly confronted builders when he couldn’t get past their van near the Star inn, in Middle Street, Beeston, at 2.06pm yesterday. They were threatened with what is believed to be a knife before the man left.

Officers were called to the scene and arrested a man on suspicion of using threatening behaviour causing fear and violence and possession of a sharply pointed object.
