Stars such as Michael Buble and Lewis Capaldi will perform in Nottingham this December, along with a performance of David Walliams’ Grandpa’s Great Escape.

The Motorpoint Arena is set to host six performances over the festive period:

Rough Trade in Hockley has three events scheduled for December:

  • A live set and signing from Jack Peñate on Tuesday December 3
  • A live acoustic set and signing from Temples on Friday December 6
  • An evening with Dave Haslam on Monday December 16

The Broadway Cinema is offering three Christmas party options over December: Private screenings of a Christmas film of your choice in one of their four cinema screens, exclusive use of their Mezzanine Bar or a private party in their sixties-inspired lounge. Visit

Lewis Capaldi will perform a sold-out gig at Rock City on December 2, while tickets are still available for Primal Scream a day later.

Away from the stage and screen, the Winter Wonderland is already being set up in Old Market Square and the first Christmas lights are being installed on the front of the Council House building.

The Ice Bar which formed a prominent part of last year’s Christmas market will feature again. Admission to the Ice Bar and ice skating will require the purchase of a ticket, either in advance or on the door.

Nottingham’s Winter Wonderland was voted #1 in the UK by Vogue magazine, and this year’s edition is set to run from November 15 to December 31. Twenty new traders are expected to join this year, taking the total to 70.
