National Doughnut day falls on November 5 and Doughnotts have the perfect way of celebrating with its new monster eating challenge.
The supersize doughnut weighs in at two kilograms, measuring in at whopping 14 inches and is coated in Nutella and toffee, topped with Reece’s Pieces, Ferrero Rocher, pretzels and nuts.
Challengers are given 40 minutes to complete the entire doughnut, with winners walking away with the doughnut for free and a special prize from the Doughnotts team.
However, those defeated will have to pay for the £42 doughnut.
Although this challenge is not for the faint-hearted, with only four people having attempted it so far and two completing it, the winners being professional competitive eaters Leah Shutkever from Birmingham and Kyle Gibson from Sunderland.
The idea behind creating this challenge was sparked by fans of Doughnotts commenting on their social media posts claiming they could eat one of the company’s 14-inch doughnuts by themselves.
‘immediately wanted to put these people to the test and see if they wanted to put their money where their mouth is!’
Daniel Byrne, who works at Doughnotts, admitted he: “immediately wanted to put these people to the test and see if they wanted to put their money where their mouth is!
What’s great is a challenge like this attracts competitive eaters who will likely finish the challenge but in return, we get free advertising via their Social media and Youtube channels, which attracts the more amateur eaters that don’t finish it.”
If you think you have what it takes to beat this monster doughnut Doughnotts are taking applications via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or pop into the store.
