Nottingham City Council is set to celebrate Christmas by hosting its largest ever Winter Wonderland. The market will be open on Friday 15th November with the lights switch on later that day.
Besides a mix of 70 modern and traditional wooden chalet market stalls, the classic ice rink will be made larger into 1100 metres with an ice path around the market square fountains. The Sheriff and Lord Mayor will switch on the lights, which signals the opening of the Christmas attractions. That evening there will be performances from ice dance skaters from the National Ice Centre.
The popular après ski bar, Sur La Piste will also return for the festive season where people can purchase mulled wine.
Nottingham Christmas Wonderland is celebrating being named by Vogue as the best Christmas market in the UK.
Those who are unable to attend the Light switch on ceremony have the opportunity to watch the event live on social media.
The Altitude glass bar will also be returning as well as classic fair ground rides such as the Ice Mountain toboggan slide which is making a comeback.
A new attraction to Trinity Square will be appearing this year as the new THOR’S tipi bar – a pop up bar decked out with wooden tables, benches, furs, and a real fire pit.
