Audiences flocked to the Magnificent Spiegeltent to watch the sold-out Greatest Nottingham Circus Show and were amazed by a series of aerial hoop, silks and contortionist performances.

Students from Circus Hub training centre had the opportunity to show off their acrobatic routines to a crowd in last night’s two hour extravaganza.

With performers aged between 10 to +40, each performance was filled with heart-racing moments as they climbed to ceiling height before dropping towards the ground, only to catch themselves by their feet.

Ria Ashcroft and Kay Monrose are the brains behind the group. They have been training together in aerial and acro-balance for just over three years, and both have a vast history in performing and training aerial acrobatics.

Kay Monrose, aerial performer and teacher at Circus Hub, said: “We couldn’t have asked for a better turnout tonight, the kids have been working so hard these past few months and hearing that the show sold out gave them the motivation to go out and do it the best they have ever done.

“It is a hard skill being able to hold yourself up in the air, let alone doing acrobatics up there so i hope they get the recognition they deserve.”

The audience appeared amazed at the talent, with one person tweeting: “Loving Nottingham’s Spiegeltent, tonight’s human circus acts were incredible. Pure showmanship #nottingham #spiegeltent #circus.”

With professional performers coming all the way from Australia to help train students at the recently-opened business, and perform routines that have allowed them to travel across the world with the circus, the quality and standard within the performances was very high.

Circus Hub offer different aerial and acro-balance classes throughout the week, as well as being available for birthdays and private classes, so you too could fly high and be a part of the circus.

Private class prices range from £25 – £75 depending on the size of your party and the time you are training for.

Circus Hub offers classes in aerial hoops and silks, trapeze, and ropes, as well as welcoming other talents such as hula hooping.
