The Post Office on Queen Street is set to close on Wednesday, May 8 and relocate to WHSmith in the intu Victoria Centre.
The move was revealed in October 2018 after going through public consultations and review.
The branch inside WH Smith will open on Thursday morning.
“I don’t really see the point in them moving it”

The relocated post office will be a short walk away from the old location and offers all of the same services to customers, plus paid parking facilities.
Chris Browning, a 30 year old bar manager from Sherwood said: “I hate going into the Vic Centre. It’s always so busy so no, I don’t think it’s a good idea to move it.
“They’ll probably make it into a charity shop or something.”
Alicia Flack, a 20-year-old marketing apprentice who lives in the city centre, said: “I use this post office mostly because I sell a lot of stuff on eBay and this one’s the closest to me but where they’re moving to isn’t that far away.”
Angela Aitkens, a retired 51-year-old from Hyson Green, added: “I don’t really see the point in them moving it. I can’t imagine the space will be much bigger in WHSmith.
“Knowing this city, they’ll probably turn it into student accommodation.”
The new location is about a five minute walk away, approximately 450 metres away from the old one.
