Treat yourself to a hot slice on National Pizza Day

February 9th is national pizza day, which means you can eat as many of your favourite cheesy slices as you want. In honour of the tastiest day of the year we decided to put together a list of all the best pizza places in Nottingham.

Oscar and Rosie’s

Olly, an ex-local-solicitor-turned-entrepreneur founded Oscar and Rosie’s in 2013, after growing tired of lackluster pizza with “plastic-like toppings”. Oscar and Rosie’s use award winning, free range and locally sourced produce to create their pizzas. From its humble beginnings as a weekly pop-up in The Picnic Basket, to its very own home on Thurland Street and now its current location on Stoney Street, the little independent pizza restaurant has earned its reputation as one of the best in the city.

Ugly Bread Bakery

This authentic Italian deli-style bakery strays from the franchise-type establishment in all of the right ways. Its quirky yet friendly interior, lovely coffee and tasty pizzas combine to make it the perfect place to catch up with friends while enjoying the aroma of freshly baked bread.

No one makes hand-stretched pizzas better than a true Italian. Right down to the dough, which is made at their family-run unit using high-quality ingredients and Italian methods – Suede’s pizza is one of Nottingham’s artisan-style bests.

Secret Pizza

This little gem is located in the small alleyway alongside Rough Trade and sells the most delicious Italian inspired sourdough pizza. In order to make their eighteen-hour base, Secret Pizza use UK Heritage grade, unbleached stone-ground flour, adding a deep, soulful flavour to the pizzas. I mean, who wouldn’t want to eat a pizza right next to Rough Trade?

Das Kino

At Das Kino you can tuck into some of the most delicious pizzas around whilst getting your ping pong game on at the same time. Their pizza names are filled with pop culture references, such as the Good Morning Vietnam, which is topped with a full English and the Slumdog Millionaire, which has a tomato tikka base.

If you ever see this place with a massive line outside, it’s because this place loves to give out free pizza flyers around town. Based in Old Market Square, it sells some crazy good, make-it-yourself pizza, and with over forty fresh toppings to choose from, you can create your very own perfect slice.
