A yellow warning for wind has been issued from the Met Office for Wednesday through to Saturday.

Forecasters predict very strong, gusty winds on Wednesday night and Thursday morning. The wind will be the strongest after midnight on Wednesday reaching 60mph and then reducing to 50mph on Thursday morning.

The Met Office say to expect possible delays and some short term loss of power. High-sided vehicles should be careful on exposed routes and bridges.

Throughout the week a deep area of low pressure is predicted to move across Northern Britain late on Friday and early morning on Saturday. Southwesterly winds are expected to increase through Friday and continue into Saturday.

On Saturday some places will have gusts over 60mph especially in the north of the warning area and up to 70mph on the west or southwest coasts.

In Nottinghamshire the wind will reduce on Saturday afternoon.
