Nottingham Forest lost 2-0 away at Birmingham this weekend after giving away a penalty handing them their 6th loss in their last 10 games in all competitions.
Martin O’Neil and his side headed to St Andrews on Saturday in high spirits after picking up their first win under his tenure against Wigan the week before.
The away side were backed by a sell out crowd of 3,072 who made the 100 mile round trip to Birmingham.
However all hopes were quickly dashed after a 13th minute goal from the Spaniard Diego Jota, firing past Pantilimon in the Forest goal.
Throughout the game the Reds piled on the pressure, with Joe Lolley striking the post, but it was to no avail.
It stayed that way until the 93rd minute as Che Adams tucked away a penalty, securing all three points for Birmingham, moving the home side up to 8th in the table.
Forest centre back, Yohan Benalouane, was shown a straight red card amidst the chaos as he purposefully handled the ball on the line, stopping a clear goal scoring opportunity.
Forest slipped to their 6th defeat in the last 10 Championship games, and there is no sign of change for the men from The City Ground as they slipped to 12th in the table.
Brentford at home will be Forest’s next game this weekend whereas Birmingham travel to QPR in their next fixture.
