Notts County have confirmed the signing of Craig Mackail-Smith on loan from Wycombe Wanderers until the end of the season.
Mackail-Smith, 34, an experienced striker, has spent the last year at Wycombe Wanderers appearing in 62 games, scoring 11 goals.
In a career spanning 17 years, Mackail-Smith has played up and down the football league with successful spells at Peterborough, Dagenham and Redbridge as well as Brighton.
The former Peterborough man played seven games for Scotland including games against Brazil and Spain in which he scored one goal.
County boss Neal Ardley is thrilled to have added a new striker.
He said: “Craig has built a very good reputation in the game.
“In this window we wanted to add players who know how to excel at this level, along with a couple of young prospects. We wanted that mix of experience and quality.
“Adding Craig on top of Mitch Rose is great and we’re hopeful of possibly adding another couple in the next day or so.”
Ardley feels Mackail-Smith adds another dimension to his front line.
He added: “Having Enzio back and with Louis and Kane getting fitter, across the front four we’ve now got pace, trickery and know how.”
