A memorial event is being held this week to remember Arnold teenager Jaden Moodie who was stabbed to death in London in early January.

Jaden Moodie, 14, attended Redhill Academy in Arnold before moving to London six months ago with his mum.

He died in Leyton, London, on January 8.

Gedling Borough Council will be running the event, at the request of Jaden’s family, at Arnot Hill Park on Friday, February 1, at 3.45pm.

Jaden used to take his dog for walks regularly in the park and a tree will be planted there in his memory.

Detectives investigating Jaden’s death have charged an 18-year-old man.

Ayoub Majdouline, of Wembley, north west London appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court where he was also charged with possession of a bladed weapon.

He was remanded in custody until Wednesday, January 20.
