As the end of dry January approaches the people of Nottingham share their thoughts on the month.
Every year millions of people take part in dry January, a movement set up by the charity Alcohol Change UK.
Many people decide to join after overindulging over the Christmas period.
There are many benefits to giving up alcohol, some of which include eliminating hangovers, trimming your waistline and saving money.
Milena Szabo, 44, a shopper, from Mapperley, is aware of many people that have taken part in dry January.
She said: “I do know lots of people who have, and it is a good time to do resolutions.”
However, for her, giving up alcohol is not just for January.
She added: “I have given up alcohol for about four months, but it wasn’t for January.”
