A NET tram collided with a car containing two people between NG2 and Meadows Way West.

At around 5.20pm on 10 October, a Ford Focus containing two passengers hit a tram heading southbound towards the NG2 stop.

The car was hit on the rear passenger side which activated all the vehicle’s airbags.

The front bumper of the tram also fell off in the collision.

An ambulance was called to the scene and the passengers were fully evacuated onto the embankment, carriage by carriage, once the area was deemed safe.

The two occupants of the Ford Focus managed to leave the car safely and no serious injuries were sustained.
