The Light up a Life ceremony was hosted in Nottingham’s city centre this Christmas, to celebrate the lives of people no longer here during the festive period.
Over 100 people attended the ceremony on December 5, which consisted of a vigil at St Mary’s Church, followed by a mile-long torch lit procession through Nottingham city centre to the Castle Rock Brewery, where the Light up a Life Christmas tree had its lights switched on.
All money raised from the event was donated to the Nottinghamshire Hospice.

Alongside the funds raised at the event, the Nottinghamshire Hospice features a virtual Christmas tree on their website.
On the virtual tree, viewers can dedicate a virtual light in memory of somebody and donate to the charity too.
This online tool has raised a total of £1,165 for the Nottinghamshire Hospice.
